Pete is 'one of the most important folk artists in Britain' (Mojo Magazine) a singer, musician & dancer steeped in British traditional music and was recently awarded the EFDSS gold badge. He played with the hugely influential New Victory Band, Bandoggs & Red Shift & founded Ryburn 3 Step. He has a great knowledge of ballads & broadsides & writes his own songs in fine traditional style. Pete plays melodeon, banjo, bouzouki, guitar & Appalachian dulcimer.
Pete introduces ideas for accompanying traditional songs on a variety of instruments identifying melodic structures & exploring harmonic & chordal alternatives to achieve a sympathetic & convincing arrangement. Contributions welcome with an opportunity to develop solo or small group arrangements.
