A powerful & compelling performer, Frankie has been singing British ballads, rural, industrial, music hall & contemporary songs since the 1960s. She has worked with leading figures of the folk revival such as Louis Killen, Ewan MacColl, Bert Lloyd, Peggy Seeger & Sandra Kerr. Her passion for traditional singing styles has informed the development of her own voice & teaching. She has been a guest tutor at International Voice Conferences in the UK, Australia & North America.
The workshop will explore the melodic voice & how the body/breath/voice is our vocal instrument. Enjoyable & relaxing exercises, improvisations & songs will help release the voice; loose comfortable clothing is essential.
One or two songs will be taught by ear, allowing for our own inventive harmonies.
Music reading is not necessary.
