Kevin (from Derry) and Ellen (from Glasgow) are two of the country's finest singers of traditional Scottish & Irish ballads. They are in demand at folk music festivals in the British Isles, Canada & the USA. They have a deep understanding of the history & performance of these wonderful narrative songs & have recorded extensively.

Kevin & Ellen will sing some ballads themselves & will lead discussion on the ballads brought by workshop participants. You are invited to nominate a ballad in advance that you will sing & the group will discuss. To avoid clashes with other contributors. please state your preferred ballad in advance. If your choice has already been taken, we will let you know so that you can choose another. If in doubt about what counts as a ballad, don't hesitate to discuss it with us first.
