A fine singer of American traditional songs, Jeff accompanies himself on guitar, 5-string banjo & English concertina. He presents music from North Carolina to New England with warmth, humour & understated scholarship. He's also a great teacher with a deep understanding of the origins on the music & how to perform it for today's listeners.
The workshop will cover traditional American songs, American songs influenced by or grown from British ones, and ways of making traditional songs your own using techniques adapted from traditional singers. Bring a traditional or newer song to sing.
MP3s & lyrics will be sent ahead for sample songs. Recording devices are welcome.
