Tom's Northern swing fiddle combines Scots/Donegal styles, with Newcastle hornpipes a speciality. He has a lovely flowing style, beautiful tone & faultless technique, & is a also a fine singer with a powerful yet mellow voice. He has played with Bob Fox, Kieran Halpin, his own band Dabhand, Alistair Andersons Syncopace, Phil Cunningham, Barbara Dixon, Chris Newman & Pauline Cato. He's an inspiration for the new generation of musicians including Seth Lakeman & Kate Rusby.
Tom writes, 'The workshop will show you how to play simple tunes making them lively and danceable. To leave out the fiddly bits till later ! Everyone has a "fiddle voice " and I'll show you how to find it on your fiddle and bow.' Music will be sent out in advance.
